More and more homeowners who enjoy entertaining are going for the outdoor version of the fan to assist them in keeping their exterior comfortable and cool. If you have one in the home, you likely know the benefits that it provides. The weather in some parts of the country isn’t just hot, it is also muggy and humid. Without a breeze blowing, getting any enjoyment outside the home becomes a big challenge. Installing this type of fan in a strategic spot outside the home can help to keep the area a bit cooler and allow you to enjoy your space more, while moving the air, making everyone more comfortable.
Entertaining in Comfort
A fan outside in the exterior space can make enjoying the outdoors a reality, and make it easy to use the outside space for entertaining and lounging. But since you cannot add central air conditioning the sunroom or patio room, this can be a beautiful and comforting alternative that brings a cool breeze to these areas so that you can entertain your guests in comfort, or just simply use your space for relaxation and lounging.
Making Your Selection
These types of outdoor cooling sensations come in various sizes that range from around 29” to 54”. Typically, the one you select should be relative to the measurement of the space where you want to use it. The guide that follows will help you choose the right size for you:
• Up to 75 square feet – 29" to 36" size.
• From 76 square feet to 144 square feet – 36" to 42" size.
• From 145 square feet to 225 square feet – 44" size.
• From 225 square feet and greater – 50" to 54" size.
• Rooms larger than 400 square feet may require the installation of more than one.
As a general rule, one large (50" – 54") fan every 225 feet is efficient, even though you can install as many as you desire and have room for.
